Church podcasts are a great way for travelers and home-bound people to stay connected to religious teachings and grow spiritually. Podcasts can be enjoyed iPod during a walk, in a car on a long drive, or just as a welcoming bit of virtual company while toiling away at work or studying. Anyone can download these Christian church podcasts for free, and they are all Christmas podcasts to help set the tone for the Christmas season.
“Miracle” from Elevation Church
The “Miracle” Christmas podcast series is from Elevation Church services in December 2006. Elevation Church’s charming pastor Steven Furtick says that during Christmas, even shoppers at Abercrombie can hear “O Holy Night” during Christmas. Pastor Furtick focuses on the human perspective of the nativity, which he explains in the first podcast of the Miracle series. Furtick says listeners should look at the biblical teachings “as if you didn’t know the ending.” “Miracle” focuses on how God looked at the “least likely candidates” to share the “good news of Christmas.”
There are four Christmas podcasts in Miracle, and all of them were produced by Elevation Church. Each podcast lasts for about an hour except for “Believe in Me,” which is close to 45 minutes.
- “Miracle: Miracle Misconceptions” from December 3, 2006.
- “Miracle: The Problem with Jesus” from December 10, 2006.
- “Miracle: Believe in Me” from December 17, 2006.
- “Miracle: God, Invade my Christmas” from December 24, 2006.
The podcasts are available through iTunes or through the Elevation Church sermon archive.
“The Message of Christmas” from The City Church
Pastor Judah Smith has a beautiful Christmas sermon in “The Message of Christmas.” The message of Christmas is that God loves us, but Pastor Smith says, “The overwhelming emphasis of Christmas and Christianity is God’s love.” This is a good podcast for reflection on what it means to be a Christian.
“The Message of Christmas” was produced by The City Church, and it is 45 minutes long. The podcast and other City Church podcasts with Judah Smith can be downloaded from iTunes.
“A Christmas Moment” from North Point Ministries
If you are looking for a quick Christmas pick me up, try the 5 minute message from Andy Stanley at North Point Ministries. Pastor Andy Stanley reads the church’s “shortest podcast ever,” because this is a podcast that North Point Ministries hopes that people will share with friends and family through “A Christmas Moment” on the church website.
Pastor Stanley reads the Christmas story from the gospel of Luke, and then he reflects on how different people celebrate Christmas. “This is the season when we are reminded that we are no longer to try to negotiate our sin with God, because the negotiation is ended.” Then there is a short prayer at the end of the podcast. “A Christmas Moment” was released on December 18, 2010, and it is produced by North Point Ministries. It is available through iTunes and through North Point Community church.
Christmas and Easter are the two days that most people go to church, but if you can’t go there are online churches that will be broadcasting Christmas messages, including Lifechurch.tv. If you want to listen to Christmas podcasts at different times during the year or get a jump on celebrating Christmas by listening to Christmas sermons on Christmas Eve, try these Christian church sermon podcasts from Elevation Church, The City Church, and North Point Ministries.
